Children Put On Your Listening Ears

Remember when your teacher used to say "Let's put on our listening ears"?  Remember when your parents used to say "Pay attention"?  Or what about that great commercial years ago...'When E.F. Hutton speaks, people listen".  My point being when you seek the advice of a professional TAKE IT!  Not long ago I was talking with my trainer about how people come to me for real estate advice and then they do the exact opposite of what I say.  He said the same thing happens to him when people ask for advice on diet and nutrition.  I don't get it!  Take for example a home I wrote an offer on this week.  The home has been on the market for several months and my clients have been keeping an eye on it for a couple of weeks.  The seller finally decided to listen to his Realtor (a terrific agent by the way) and he reduced the price.  So my clients decided to finally write an offer and guess what so did someone else!  WOW imagine that you priced your home well and you get offers, what a concept,  how brilliant is that!  But isn't that why you hire a professional?  That seller felt like he needed to list high so he had some room for negotiation, well there is no negotiating when there is no offer!  So just a little friendly reminder, it pays to listen!

Always listen to experts. They'll tell you what can't be done and why. Then do it.
