Handy or not??
Last week I was at an inspection with my clients. The property appeared to be in very well maintained condition however most of the work the seller had recently done was by a handyman. There were several things that were improperly done and not to code. Unfortunately the seller thought she was saving a lot of money by getting a handyman to do the work, instead it is going to cost her more money to have it corrected. Don’t get me wrong I think a handyman is good for some things but when it comes to system and structural items you are better of hiring a licensed professional who is up to date on current codes and will provide you with proper documentation of warranties and necessary permits. Because I am often asked for referrals for various trades people I have put together a list www.ZastrowsList.com Although I can not personally guarantee these providers I have used many of them in my home.
